Just like the previous year participants gathered at the Open Space between Block 121 & 123 Bukit Merah View on a special Sunday Morning to challenge themselves in completing the 10k Mount Faber run which was organised by the VGO Corporation. The route will test the runners as they make their way across the Bukit Merah area and towards Mount Faber, where a series of uphill and downhill terrains awaits them.

Being an avid runner, I tend to have to more than one pair of shoes to meet the needs of different training routines. Knowing the correct type of shoes to wear will complement one’s training to reach their specific goals. If I were to be doing a fast tempo short distance sprinting workout, I would have to put on light weight shoes. On the other hand, if I were to be training for long distance running, I would have to wear heavier but more comfortable and cushioning shoes.

Marketed as a lightweight neutrally cushioned running shoe, the Keahou is not as lightweight as I had expected. While that is a minus for me, I attribute this to ample cushioning provided by the GuideGlide Guidance System and a triple density Superfoam compound to give runners a comfortable ride and a smooth heel-to-toe transition so I will reserve Keahou for those long days of pounding the tarmac.

It was a Thursday and the Sun was shining brightly on my Optic Nerve shades. I arrived in Core Concepts office which was located in Parkway Parade. The office emitted a soothing music the minute the glass door was pushed open and it had cool colours and matching furniture. Immediately, I felt comfortable because the feeling was inevitable. The receptionist asked me to fill up a form and I on the couch while waiting for Chye Tuan, a physiotherapist. I was meeting him at 1430 for my sports massage. Chye Tuan is tall and athletic built (later on, I learnt that he is a basketball player) and his smile greeted me when our eyes met. I was led to a room and then my massage session began.

With the Trifactor Triathlon in September, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Osim International (mini-distance) and practice the feel of transiting from swim to bike to run, especially the cycling part after years of layoff (Not that I was any good in the 1st place).

30th May 2009; while some people are enjoying their weekend nights at home resting or enjoying the night life. Changi Point witnessed a gathering of runners from all over Singapore, all with one goal in mind to compete/ take part in the Adidas Sundown Marathon 2009. The organiser had set up the carnival tent equipped with a giant movie screen in the middle of Changi Point. Baggage holding tents were also present which helped keep the valuables safe.
