About Us
SGRunners.COM (http://www.SGRunners.COM) is an online running portal which aims to bring together runners based in Singapore. Its objective is to link all Singapore running enthusiasts in one website and provide them with information as well as a platform to exchange tips and pointers on running, give updates on forthcoming local and overseas running events, motivate one another to attain their running goals, as well as build up friendships among those who enjoy the simple pleasures and healthy rewards of running.
SGRunners.COM has a very active forum of over 1500 members presently (as of June 2007), many of whom meet up on a regular basis for leisure runs, training sessions, or to participate in local and/or overseas competitions. Membership in our forum is free.
SGRunners.COM was set-up by thelonelyrunner in 25th June 2005 which started out as a Singapore Runners Blogging Community (SRBC) which was then located at sgrunners.blogspot.com. The SGRunners.COM forum was created the next day. The purpose of the community was to link all running bloggers together. To motivate, inspired as well as sharing of knowledge and updates on the upcoming races.
As the number of members grew unexpectedly, Carine, the current webmaster of the SGRunners.COM suggested to have SGRunners.COM domain by itself, which was agreed by thelonelyrunner. Logos revamped, name was changed. And this is where we are right now! SGRunners.COM !
